It tells the story of Pushpa Raj, a coolie who volunteers to smuggle red sanders, an unusual wood that only grows in the Seshachalam Hills of the Chittoor area of Andhra Pradesh. Pushpa deftly flees and rescues the stock just as DSP Govindappa strikes them in the forest, earning the respect of his boss Konda Reddy in the process.
